DCCI receives a delegation from Turkish Customs

Abulrahman G. Al Mutaiwee Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry DCCI received Mr.Riza Mehmet Korkamaz the Director General for the EU and External Relations at the Turkish Customs
The meeting discussed the commercial relations between the UAE and Turkey and its progress during the past years. It discussed as well the visit of the Turkish Prime Minister to the UAE. DCCI Director General welcomed the Turkish initiative which can create a platform for new commercial relations and stronger partnership. He explained the numerous opportunities in Dubai for businessmen and investors.
Mr. Korkamaz expressed his interest in strengthen the relations with the UAE indicating that the Turkish delegation met officials from the Federal Customs Authority regarding signing a cooperation agreement between them. He indicated the development in the bilateral trade between the two countries in both directions during the past few years.
Al Mutaiwee explained that DCCI issue about 1400 certificates of origin daily. In edition it is going to provide all services online by 2006.
The statistics show that the total non oil bilateral trade between Dubai and Turkey increased from 1.26 billion Dirham (345 million US Dollars) in year 2000 to 3.6 Billion Dirham (982 million US Dollars) in 2004.
