Dubai Internet City marks successful year with influx of new business partners
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, September 20 - 2005 at 12:32
- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Internet City (DIC), a member of Dubai Holding, is set to make a big splash at GITEX for the fifth year running.
The Community Zone provides DIC's Business Partners with a unique platform to gain maximum visibility for their offerings in tandem with the world-famous DIC brand. Meanwhile, key figures from Dubai Internet City's corporate team will also be on hand to talk to customers from around the world - demonstrating the benefits of setting up within the business community of the ICT industry for the region.
"The number of entirely new entrants to the Community Zone this year at GITEX is striking. In the past we have seen many of our Business Partners exhibit for the first time at GITEX from the Community Zone stand. Many of them have since then developed their presence significantly enough to set up independent stands of their own in their respective halls at GITEX" said Jamal Abdul Salam, Executive Director of DIC. "Furthermore, there is still continued demand from potential Business Partners from an increasingly diverse range of countries to join our community; which represents DIC's central importance to the ICT industry."
The Community Zone will play host to a wide range of Business Partners from different markets, industries and countries.
Among the new entrants this year are: India-headquartered IT-People.com, the world's first IT-specific online job portal; Swedish-based high-tech IT security solutions company — onSpirix; Telecom Egypt's new data team; the US-based security firm e-Linear Solutions, and Saudi Arabia-based SAP solutions provider, Naizak. All these firms are first-timers at Gitex.
As all of DIC's new Business Partners view the Middle East is such an exciting region, they have chosen 'right now' to be the time to set up their physical presence locally - taking advantage of extraordinary growth opportunities in the ICT and Telecoms market.
In addition to the first-timers, the DIC Community Zone's stalwarts will also be returning to their stands - some for the fifth year running. These DIC Partners include ComGuard, who will unveil the GITEX webcam for the second time running - this means that lucky GITEX attendees can watch the action at the event direct from their laptops, while others can view the show from home or the office.
As Dubai Internet City is part of Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone, it is also hosting organisations from the same family, including Dubai Outsource Zone (DOZ), the first Free Zone dedicated to the outsourcing industry, E-HostingDatafort (EHDF), the security and managed services arm of Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone and Sheikh Mohammed's IT Education Project (ITEP), which will unveil the world's first Braille-enabled ICDL course and will also update the community on the progress of its digitised library of the Al Azha Mosque. One of the world's greatest repositories of Islamic scholarship and learning.
Meanwhile, Dubai Internet City will be unveiling major plans to take its proven business model for developing business further afield - as part of its 'Going Global' mission DIC is currently in talks with authorities in India, Pakistan, Iran and Malta to set up facilities in various cities. DIC will also unveil details of extensive local expansion plans due to new investments.
The DIC Community Zone will be situated at GITEX 2005, World Trade Centre Halls between 25th and 30th September at Concourse 2.
