PICTI, the Palestinian Information and Communication Technology Incubator's participation in EXPOTECH recently in Palestine ended with the introduction of a series of projects that will be launched by the beginning of next year. Within the framework of introducing the Palestinian capabilities to the information and communication technology's international society, PICTI announced its participation at GITEX exhibition in Dubai during September 25-29, 2005.

At a press conference during EXPOTECH, Dr. Sabri Saidam announced the appointment of 'PICTI', as a member of the coordinating committee, which will evaluate the issues of planning and managing the Technology Parks. Dr. Saidam also announced the appointment of 'PICTI' to head the Gaza strip Technological Parks which will be financed by India. Mr. Fayez Al Husseini Director General of 'PICTI' commented those steps saying: 'We are proud of the vision of H.E. the Minister of Communication regarding the partnership of both public and private sectors to develop this dimension and his trust in the capabilities and role of 'PICTI'. Next October we will submit our first working paper relative to this pioneering 'Technological Parks' project in Gaza'.

Concerning PICTI's participation and achievements during EXPOTECH, Al Husseini said: 'This year we encountered at EXPOTECH a real opportunity to introduce the Palestinian incubator and to launch a selection of incubated projects. Thanks to the modern technology used by the creative youth to submit their projects, PICTI and the incubated projects were widely accepted and approved of by the concerned visitors & IT community. Many visitors have shown their interest to cooperate with, adopt and support those projects whose benfits will be reflected on all. 'PICTI' is a modern concept in the Palestinian society of information technology which requires greater support.

Concerning its future participation at GITEX, PICTI General Director said that the exhibition has constituted a launching pad for us to move forward to advanced steps in the near future and to progress regionally and internationally. After this achievement, and through the sponsorship of those involved in the communication and information sectors, we will participate in the September 2005 GITEX International Fair in Dubai along with the incubated projects which have already been tested with local companies. We seek, through this opportunity, to invite Arab and International companies and to expand qualitatively and quantitively in the range of incubated projects.

PICTI embraces a number of projects accredited on the basis of industrial technological applications. Amongst those are educational, service and recreation projects such as the 'Yooyaland' project which educates children harnessing the Internet with a powerful multimedia portal means, the 'MOBIS' project which is currently being tested in cooperation with 'JAWWAL' and which provides informative and entertainment services through SMS technology, the 'ADDICT123' project which is being tested in cooperation with the Jerusalem Electricity Company and which specializes in providing remote control access of devices by SMS technology through electronic sites and the HR360 project which provides managerial and human resources services through programs that will facilitate managerial and other operations on companies and organizations.
