UKS, the eLearning solution provider based in Dubai, Lebanon, Syria and Kuwait, is set to participate in GITEX 2005
The wide range of ICDL delivery methods offered by UKS will be in focus at Gitex 2005. The main highlight of the event will be on the delivery of ICDL content on mobile devices. With the use of Giunti Collaborative tools, eXact mobile, UKS made it possible to deliver course content from the Learning Management System (LMS) to a mobile device. The user can navigate the course as well as its related discussion forum and chat, while all the tracking and course progress data is being synchronized with the LMS. UKS country manager in the UAE Jawad Sebaali emphasized the importance of this delivery method and explained "The mobile telephone has become an essential piece of technology in our daily life and most people of all age groups would say they are unable to function without it. Mobile learning has emerged into being the new revolution of learning. As pioneers in educational technologies, it was only natural for UKS to evolve in that direction."
In addition, UKS will also be showcasing mobile learning for the visually impaired. In cooperation with Nattiq technologies, and with the use of the Hal Screen reader, visually challenged learners may scan any text and listen to it being read automatically. UKS Business Development Director, Fadi Abdul-Khalek explains "methods of learning are reaching new heights. In this era of technology, learning should be easily accessible to all. UKS hopes that such innovations in eLearning will open up new horizons, in this case particularly, for the visually impaired."
