Bahrain to drop Israel trade ban

Bahrain is set to drop a ban on Israeli imports, according to media reports. The lifting of the decades-old boycott was reportedly a precondition by the Bush administration of agreeing to a bilateral free trade agreement with the Kingdom. Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa is quoted as saying normalisation of diplomatic ties with Israel was, however, not currently on the table.
