Jacky's more than doubles its presence at GITEX Shopper 2005

Jacky's is offering shoppers at GITEX Shopper 2005 a chance to win either a Nokia mobile phone or a 20 per cent discount voucher from Jacky's. Through the scratch-and-win coupon, one can either win one of the 1001 Nokia mobile phones or the discount voucher, which will be eligible for IT and mobile accessories at any Jacky's showrooms. Jacky's participation at GITEX Shopper, an event that contributes a significant amount to sales each year, will display products from major vendors including HP, Acer, LG, Toshiba, Samsung, Canon, Apple, Sanyo, Dell, Intel, Creative, Kodak, Fuji, Nikon, BenQ, Sony Ericsson, Nokia, i-mate, Palm amongst other major brands that participate every year with Jacky's.

GITEX Shopper, a pivotal period for IT-trade every year, is important for major retailers and vendors as the trends that emerge from such events carry forward for the next one-year. According to Ashish Panjabi, Chief Operating Officer at Jacky's Electronics, GITEX Shopper's has further strengthened its position on the retail calendar in UAE.

"As an established retailer, events like GITEX Shopper provide us with an opportunity to understand our customers better by engaging in floor-level discussions with them. The customer feedback is also important to our vendors since this is an ideal platform for them to understand customer requirements and explain the benefits of their respective technologies," said Mr. Panjabi.

After registering a sales increase of 120% during GITEX Shopper 2004, Jacky's is looking forward to the 2005 event, optimistically. With the emergence of GITEX Shopper's as a family event, further growth can be anticipated this year, which will also be supported by the improvements in parking arrangements at the Airport Expo, the venue of the GITEX Shopper.

Apart from events like GITEX Shopper, Jacky's has increased its commitment to IT and digital products with the launch of Jacky's Express - a chain of new concept stores that are dedicated to the sale of such products. The first is now open at Century Mall and a second branch is due to open shortly in Safeer Mall.

Jacky's will also be hosting a contest on radio channels including 92FM, Al Arabiya, Radio 4FM and Radio Asia for seven days, starting September 24. The radio jockeys will be asking listeners questions based on products featured in Jacky's GITEX Booklet 2005. Four lucky winners will receive Olivetti printers, everyday.
