Tejari is currently demonstrating the functionality of Tejari LinkŪ to highlight just how it easy it will soon be for suppliers to register and pay for Tejari membership online, create a virtual showroom, and begin generating demand for their products and services via the marketplace. Smaller companies that want to buy goods online can also register quickly and achieve immediate access to Tejari's diverse base of suppliers.

"The concept behind Tejari Link is to really lower any barrier to entry for smaller to mid-sized companies that want to realize the benefits of online procurement," said Omar Hijazi, CEO of Tejari.

"While we have some of the largest airlines, banks, and other regional organizations already trading via Tejari, there are thousands of organizations in the Middle East that either want another viable sales channel for their goods, or need to source products quickly and from a wide base of suppliers. Tejari Link will meet both of those market requirements," he added.

With Tejari LinkŪ in its beta testing phase, Tejari anticipates that the new offering will be available at the start of 2006. GITEX provides the opportunity for both existing and potential members to offer their comments on the features and functionality of the software.

Boosting its almost 4000-member trading community is a key priority for Tejari to ensure that it can continue to match buyers and suppliers online. As Internet penetration continues to increase across the region's private sector, more organizations have become aware of the benefits of online procurement, including increased efficiency in the buying cycle, access to more competitive offerings, and reduced administrative costs.
