Silver Jubilee edition of GITEX to open today

GITEX recorded double digit growth across the spectrum from number of companies to net square metres and will run from September 25th till September 29th at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).

Leading international, regional and local companies and mega corporations in the IT industry have planned a series of product launches and regional product releases, acknowledging the business potential at the Silver Jubilee edition of the event.

Following the success of last year's dedicated zones concept, this year too the event is clearly demarcated into three areas - Hardware, Software and Communications Networking. This will assist the trade visitors and IT professionals in locating and accessing their preferred areas of interest.

Organisers DWTC are also distributing the GITEX Route Map to trade visitors for quicker identification of individual company stalls. But the novelty this year will be the GITEX Mobile Guide, which can be accessed by any mobile device to browse event and exhibitor-related information.

A multi-pronged strategy has been devised to ease traffic flow during GITEX 2005. DWTC, DTCM, Dubai Police, Dubai Transport Corporation, Dubai Municipality, Avis, the emirate's hoteliers together will ensure free flow of vehicles in and around the venue.

At free shuttle service will run from leading five-star hotels and from vantage points across the city including the Dubai Internet City, City Centre and Bur Juman. While these services will be towards the DICEC during morning hours, they will run from the DICEC to the hotels in the evening. This will complement the services by Dubai Transport Corporation's fleet of taxis and Valtrans's valet parking service.
