Canadian business delegation visits RAK Free Trade Zone

A business delegation belonging to the Canada- Arab Business Council visited the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) on Thursday and held discussions with Sheikh Faisal bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of RAK FTZ, on the various business opportunities available in the emirate.
"The RAK FTZ is in the forefront of this developmental wave and the Free Zone is committed to act as a facilitator to set up efficient and cost- effective businesses", he said.
Sheikh Faisal added that the Free Zone provided state-of-the -art facilities, including the newly deployed communication infrastructure featuring IP (Internet Protocol) telephony and Cisco security systems.
Oussama El Omari, Project Director General of RAK FTZ, briefed the delegation about the facilities and incentives available to entrepreneurs at the Free Zone. He said that the enhanced infrastructure and logistics capabilities of the emirate, including faster access through the new Emirates Road, provided added advantages to investors who are willing to set up businesses in the Free Zone.
He added that the favorable investment climate in Ras Al Khaimah offered much scope for increased business cooperation between Canada and the Emirate, especially in the field of capital intensive businesses, logistics etc.
W. David Hutton, Ambassador of Canada to the UAE, and the accompanying delegation expressed satisfaction at the excellent facilities available at the Free Zone.
Earlier the delegation visited the Industrial Park and had a glimpse of the facilities offered at the Free Zone.
