Sony Gulf readies latest, diverse, cutting edge technologies for GITEX 2005

Sony Gulf today announced that the Sony stall, Sony's biggest-ever stall, situated in Hall 4A at the Dubai World Trade Centre is spotlighting the latest advances in technology and product with a special emphasis on High Definition-enabled products.

On showcase at the Sony Stall will be latest in VAIO notebooks and a host of portable devices like Walkman, Sony Ericsson Walkman phone and PlayStation Portable. QRIO, Sony's entertainment robot is set to take stage once again at GITEX 2005.

"Sony Gulf has treated the Middle East to a wide range of cutting-edge products and latest technologies. This year, one of our focus areas' is personal portable entertainment devices - all of which will be on display at the Sony Stall and some will be showcased by an elegantly choreographed fashion show", commented Mr. Masaru Tamagawa, managing director, Sony Gulf FZE. "QRIO, Sony's entertainment robot, was a grand success last year and it's back by popular demand. We've invited QRIO to the Middle East once again to entertain our audiences", he added.

Sony High Definition World


Sony Gulf now offers an expanded range of products that are High Definition-ready. Apart from the extensive line-up of Sony televisions that are HD-enabled, Sony was the first to launch a semi-professional, full HD 1920 X 1080 pixel camcorder, the HDR-FX1 last year and this year Sony announced the launch of the HDR-HC1, the first full HD consumer Handycam that puts HD content creation in the hands of the consumer. With this extensive range of HD-ready product, Sony now gives consumers a chance to enjoy the benefits of Sony High Definition Quality at home.

Handycam


The first consumer full HD Handycam (1920 X 1080), the HDR-HC1, the industry's smallest HDV camcorder will be showcased at GITEX this year. Packed with high-end features, the HDR-HC1 will even allow less experienced, more casual users to discover the advantages of High Definition with its user friendly operations.

Also on display at the Sony Stall is the first 3-Mega Pixel DVD camcorder (DCR-DVD803/E), with a built-in microphone for 5.1 channel surround sound recording and playback and a High quality Wide LCD. Capable of recording high-definition videos, the DVD Handycam also takes fantastic still photos at 3.0 Mega Pixel quality.

QRIO - Sony's Entertainment Robot


Back in the Middle East by popular demand, QRIO, Sony's entertainment robot is all set to entertain audiences at the Sony Stall at GITEX 2005. QRIO is designed with various features like communication, real time body stabilizing motion control, Stable Biped Walking, Integrated Fall over Motion Control, Safety Design & Space Perception Capability. One of the main attributes of QRIO is that it responds using its own voice and body gestures, it is able to understand different environments in three dimensions.

VAIO Notebooks


Thin on profile and very big on features Sony's new ultra portable note book-Built for productivity and equipped for entertainment, the new VAIO® T-Series notebook PCs has it all from stamina, power and smart size for the mobile professional. The integrated CD/DVD±RW combo drive and 10.6-inch, wide-format display with Clear Bright LCD technology make DVD movie or multimedia presentation viewing a joy. Cyber-shot Digital Still Cameras


Sony's Cyber-shot Digital Still cameras, one of the leading brands in this category, now boasts of an extensive line-up of still cameras. From compact point-and-shoot models to high performance digital imaging tools and must-have fashion accessories, these cameras aim to compliment your life professionally and socially. Showcased this year at GITEX will be over 10 different models of Cyber-shot digital still cameras, each exhibiting different specifications. The key focus in this line-up will be the recently launched Cyber-shot DSC-T5. Also the new MP3 Walkman NW-HD5 combines the best in innovation and utility to deliver superior sound quality and clarity.
