Partners boost storage focus, regional expertise of Sun Microsystems' stand at GITEX 2005
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, September 25 - 2005 at 10:49
- PRESS RELEASE
As part of its regional success formula, Sun Microsystems Middle East & North Africa (MENA) has strategically developed its channel network in the region by recruiting partners that specialize in addressing specific industries, as part of a drive to enhance its capabilities and reach out to emerging business sectors.
Sun partners who will be represented on the stand include global alliance members AMD, Hitachi Data Systems, Navlink, and StorageTek, the last of which is moving toward full integration with Sun regionally. In addition, Abdulla Fouad and Jeraisy from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Diyar and ITS from Kuwait, Oman Computer Services from Oman, and iPanto from France will be highlighting their Sun-based solutions during the five-day exhibition.
"The geographical and industry-specific range of partners and their solutions exhibiting with Sun at GITEX reinforces the message that we are the number one choice when it comes to providing comprehensive solutions, both horizontal and industry-specific, for end-users in the Middle East," said Chris Cornelius, managing director, Sun Microsystems MENA.
From a hardware perspective, GITEX represents a major co-marketing opportunity for Sun and its strategic partner with a joint 10-year product development plan, AMD, to launch their new range of Opteron-based, enterprise-class volume servers, positioned as higher performance, smaller, and less electricity-hungry than competing offerings from the likes of Dell and others.
On the software side, Sun partner iPanto is making its GITEX debut with Sun to showcase its development of unified IP environment administration tools and create a regional presence in the Middle East.
A recent research project conducted by Sun revealed growing demand for technology solutions in industries across the region including financial services, government, healthcare, education and manufacturing.
