  • PRESS RELEASE

Eleven years since its glamorous unveiling, Beautyworld / Wellness & Spas Middle East, the region's most successful trade fair for the cosmetics, beauty and wellness industry, is set to break all previous records with an increase of 35 per cent in exhibitor numbers for the next edition.

Scheduled to run in four halls from 22-24 May, 2006 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the show promises to constantly evolve to reflect the latest trends in make-up, cosmetics, personal care, perfumes, hair care, wellness & spa treatments and equipment.

According to Diana Taylor, exhibition manager with organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt, this edition of Beautyworld / Wellness & Spas Middle East is expected to feature over 750 exhibitors from more than 45 countries showcasing over 1,000 brands.

"This show is the largest gathering in the Middle East of beauty and wellness professionals, a must see event for all leaders in the industry to maintain their competitive edge in this market," Ms Taylor added.

"The Show represents the fastest growing market in the Middle East and one of the most dynamic markets with a growth rate of 12%. According to Euromonitor, in 2004 the beauty and wellness industry was estimated to be worth over US$3.3 billion in the Middle East," said Ms Taylor. From this, Saudi Arabia comprises the largest single beauty market in the Middle East followed by Iran, Egypt, UAE, Kuwait and Lebanon.

"With 60% of the GCC population under 25 years of age, it is no wonder that expenditure on beauty care products reached US$317 per capita in 2004," added Ms Taylor. "Top selling products are perfumes, followed by decorative cosmetics and skin care products."

Being the main event for the beauty and wellness industry in the Middle East, has translated into annual visitor growth figures of 10%. "We are expecting over 8,500 visitors in 2006."

It's sister shows in Germany, Japan and Argentina has provided Beautyworld / Wellness and Spas Middle East with a vast network of international support and has facilitated the show's growth to become a quality global event.

The show has already signed up some major brands in the industry including Pretty Woman, Kinetics, Jessica, Bella Lucce, Urban Rituals Balnea, Massor, Phytomer, Sassl Arredamenti, Charme d'Orient, Promats, E-Life, LPG, Babor, DMK, Omnilux as well as national pavilions from several countries such as Germany, Turkey, France, Spain, Italy, UK, USA, Brazil, Thailand, Korea and many more.

Exhibitors are already talking about the live demonstrations they are planning for their stands to showcase the latest in hair styling techniques and products as well as cosmetics and even custom jewelry.

Ms Taylor said that a new live show is being planned for 2006 called Walk of Beauty. "We will reveal more details about this in due time," she said.

"We are confident that this edition of Beautyworld / Wellness and Spas Middle East will be the best ever," concluded Ms Taylor.
