Intel's software enabling programs help create the region's first digital content aggregator

Intel, today said that the digital home offering in the Middle East has just been enriched with the announcement by regional software developer ActiveMania* of its emergence as the first digital content aggregator in the region.

Supported by the Intel software network, ActiveMania, the developer of the ActiSuite digital home solution, has been working with a variety of vendors over the past year to create a comprehensive library of digital content covering movies, music, news, shopping, financial information, mobile services, kids programs, Islamic programs, educational courses, classifieds as well as a variety of entertainment programs.

Visitors to Intel's stand in Hall3 at GITEX* will be able to sample this new content which will be running on a state of the art entertainment PC powered by Intel's latest platforms for the digital home.

'We are very pleased that companies such as ActiveMania are leading the digital Content efforts, which are key to turn our Digital Home vision into reality.' said Brian Harrison, Intel's Vice President for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

'ActiveMania shows how regional ISV's can work with a variety of parties to be at the forefront of this global transformation. With the constant introduction of new technology platforms, and through our software enabling programs, we have actively working to bring the most advanced capabilities to our customers in the Middle East.'

Over the past year, ActiveMania has been fostering relationships with renowned content providers on a local and worldwide scale, sorting through their vast libraries of content, and selecting the highest quality in entertainment, education, and media content.

'As a content aggregator, ActiveMania recognizes the unique requirements of each country and works to develop a robust strategy through offering our clients a wide variety of general entertainment content with some catered content.' said Michel Kilzi, Managing Director, ActiveMania.

'In the past few months, we have signed multiple deals with content providers from different countries, such as Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and others to enrich our digital content library.'

In addition to working with content providers, Intel and ActiveMania have been actively cooperating with Internet service providers to create bundles that ease the purchase and setup of digital home solutions for home owners in the region.

'ActiveMania has been working closely with Intel to help us make the connections that enable us to provide full solutions to our customers, including the hardware platforms, the software solutions and the content. We have also cooperated with ISPs to ensure that our users get the broadband that they need to fully enjoy their digital home experience.' added Zakhour.
