In this year's Gitex, ILS has set its sights on making technology learning a regular part of the education sector through its newest program, School Academy.

Under an extensive initiative backed by H.H. General Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid to present Dubai a World Class government, the Ministry of Education started to introduce the use of technology at school level.

To support this, ILS proposes this year School Academy to help realise this vision in the education sector.

The program effectively implements change by breaking down the task of introducing technology learning into easy to handle categories centring on schools, teachers, students and parents. It then identifies the problem areas each faces and provides viable solutions and training to overcome hurdles and implement IT programs. "Aware of the challenges facing us in the future in the business world, we developed this program to equip the youth of today for the challenges of tomorrow. Our long-term vision and innovative solutions ensure that the entire education sector contributes to the development of the region's workforce," said Moustafa Kadous, Chief Executive Officer at ILS.

Through training and lab set up, ILS' School Academy will allow for effective information management and curriculum management in schools. Administration will become more centralized, and access to a global online education community will be viable. The improved communication and more efficient work place means that precious teacher time is freed and that more time is allocated to meeting the individual needs of students.

In today's education world, schools face several challenges ranging from the inability of teachers to individualize lessons to students, the average IT skills among teachers to the lack integrated curriculum. With School Academy, not only a load of paperwork will be reduced through proper use of IT tools but also real world techniques will help those teachers to customize lessons. "The use of IT will broaden the scope of the educational environment, creating a worldwide online community where knowledge may be exchanged. Administration will become more centralized, and access to a global online education community will be viable," explained Kadous.

Moreover, with the implementation of the program this year, a growing number of teachers and students across the region will have a proper grasp of IT services. Access to electronic resources and services will increase, improving the standard of education and creating communication channels between students, teachers and parents. Larger numbers of individuals will be able to share information and experiences, blending learning solutions, assessment materials and reporting facilities. The overall experience of students in the M.E.N.A region will be enriched, whereas the number of qualified teachers will greatly increase.

School Academy is in keeping with the development and growth of a sustainable and competitive economic system in the region. "The education sector can ensure highly qualified and engaged students ready to enter the workforce with confidence upon graduation," added Kadous.
