Tickets available online for 2006 Dubai Desert Classic

With the world's leading golfers expected to sign up for the 17th staging of the region's richest golf tournament, demand is again expected to be high. And with international enquiries already flooding into the tournament's headquarters at the host Emirates Golf Club, officials have decided to release daily and season tickets through www.dubaidesertclassic.com.

"With the event just four months away, travel agencies, tour companies and golf fans across the world are already enquiring as to how they can get their hands on Desert Classic tickets in advance of the tournament week," said Mohamed Buamim, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Desert Classic.

"We have already set up an online ticket sales service to satisfy this demand, while tickets will also be on sale from the Emirates Golf Club as well as all the other golf clubs and a+e outlets from October 1."

Sponsored by Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL) and to be staged at the Emirates Golf Club's Majlis Course, the Dubai Desert Classic is expected to be one of the most popular events on what is a busy sporting calendar.

As in previous years, juniors under the age of 18 will be allowed free entry to the course on every day of the tournament. Discounted rates are also available for UGA and EGC members as well as for Mastercard holders.

"The UGA special rates, however, are only available to those members who apply for tickets online."
