With the current boom taking place in the retail industry, and as consumers in the region continue to subscribe enthusiastically to the digital way of life, Intel is planning to step up its programs to help support retailers' expansion plans, and work more closely with them to help develop and enhance the customer experience at the retail level.
'There is a very clear opportunity for retailers in this region today' said Sam Al-Shamma, Intel's general manager in the GCC, 'Not only is the retail sector experiencing significant expansion, but it is also catering to a fast growing customer base that is increasingly technology savvy. The challenge today and over the coming few years is to support the growth while evolving the business to meet customer needs and expectations.'
With the success of its Intel® Centrino™ mobile technology, and its newly introduced digital home platforms, Intel has been stepping its retail marketing worldwide, with a focus on the experiential approach. Over the past two years, the company rolled out a number of programs designed to provide consumers with opportunities to touch and feel the most up-to-date technology platforms and raise awareness about the latest usage models.
'Today, it is no longer enough to put systems on shelves' continued Al-Schamma, 'Consumers expect their in-store experience to reflect the benefits that current technologies bring to their lives. It's therefore vital to put the products in context, whether that's through a mobile experience zone, a realistic approximation of a digital home or simply allowing customers to experience the excitement of online gaming'
Intel is present at this year's GITEX Computer Shopper at Airport Expo Dubai from 24th - 30th September at Plot 15 next to the ATMs.
