Etisalat demonstrates Location-based Services for mobile users

The service enables subscribers to identify geographical locations all over the UAE, as well as identify the location of any mobile phone in use through a detailed digital map forwarded to the subscriber's mobile by Etisalat.

Mohammed Al Fahim, Executive Vice President for Marketing - Etisalat, said: 'The LBS service will be of benefit to both individual and business users. It will also have a special impact on commercial and tourism institutions, as it provides its users the opportunity to easily identify their location or determine their destination'

The service will provide the business sector with the advantage of identifying the addresses of institutions, companies, and houses. The map provided will simplify the process of classifying and marking tourism locations.
