Cartridge World Middle East selects Sage ERP
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, September 26 - 2005 at 15:39
- PRESS RELEASE
Cartridge World Middle East, the regions leader in inkjet and cartridge refilling has selected Sage ERP to automate its business.
Sage ERP modules that Cartridge World will use are: General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Sales Order Processing, Sales Invoicing, Purchase Order Processing and Inventory. The system will run on a central server in Kuwait with users in Dubai using the internet to access the system.
Dr. Sameer, Finance Manager, Cartridge World said, "Our business processes are split between Dubai & Kuwait. Dubai is the operational center and sales to franchisees are processed and dispatched from here. Purchase orders are also raised in Dubai and goods are received and stored here. We have our sales office & logistics center at the Dubai Airport Free Zone. Kuwait is our head office and financial center. This is where all sales invoicing and receipts are done. Purchase invoices and payments are also made in Kuwait."
"We needed an ERP system that would automate our distributed operations smoothly and Sage ERP was the ideal solution. Using Sage thin web client technology, we can easily access the central server in Kuwait via the internet from Dubai and update sales and purchase related information. Our Finance department in Kuwait can then access these details and complete their financial transactions. With Sage, all of this is possible in a very cost effective manner" said Dr. Sameer.
Another critical requirement that Sage ERP handles well is the need for Cartridge World to maintain adequate stocks levels to meet demand while avoiding over stocking. The system looks at consumption history and allows you to factor in safety levels to meet future demand. With lead times for goods at 2 weeks, Sage ensures that franchisee orders are always fulfilled with minimum investment in inventory.
Cartridge World operates on a cash basis with franchisees. Initially, all franchisees of Cartridge World pay a certain amount of cash as a deposit. They then purchase items against the deposit. When purchases exceed the cash deposit limit, franchisees must top up the deposit to the initial amount. The cash deposit rule is enforced through a program linked to Sage ERP as an application programming interface (API).
Shishir Srivastava, Executive Director, Sage Software Middle East said, "In today's business world, it is important for companies to have the flexibility to spread their business processes across geographies without causing any delays to their operations. Our web client used to access the system through the Internet, is based on thin client technology and is perfectly suited for quick an easy execution of remote transactions."
