Emirates Post participates in Cairo postal meeting on IT

Emirates Post was one of the key participants in a UPU-sponsored conference on IT programmes for the development of IT programmes for postal marketing in Arab countries held in Cairo from September 19 to 21, 2005, in association with Swiss Post.
The conference was also attended by Mr. Najeeb Bularas, the regional representative of Universal Postal Union (UPU) and Mr. Hassan Geero, Head of marketing development programme of UPU.
Delegates discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between Arab countries to develop postal markets using technology. Delegates shared experiences and agreed to pool resources to achieve mutual benefits.
A committee was formed with the objective of establishing stronger ties between Arab postal organizations, with Morocco as the Chairman and Emirates Post as the Vice-Chairman. Saudi Post, Egypt, Jordan, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia and Syria were elected as members.
In his presentation, Mr. Bin Towaih highlighted the various achievements of Emirates Post, especially in the use of IT for improved postal services. Delegates showed a keen interest in Emirates Post's pioneering services and express desire to gain from its expertise.
