- PRESS RELEASE
Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) is currently organizing a special educational course for its students who are majoring in Information and Communications Technologies (ICT).
Approximately 40 students are participating in the course which will highlight updates and trends of TCP/IP-based multimedia network technology.
The course is part of the "Project based Learning" (PBL) program, an instructional method that emphasizes interaction among students and challenges them to learn, work in groups, think critically, and seek solutions by using the appropriate learning resources.
The course will also feature video conferencing sessions, allowing real time interaction with prominent Japanese instructors to discuss related topics, address issues, and answer questions.
The introductory session of PSUT's course was attended by Mr. Ken Mizuuchi, project formulation advisor for JICA Jordan Office; Ms. Shatha Khresha, representative of Menhaj Company, and Mr. Ryuichi Sugiyama, responsible for all JICA's projects worldwide.
Dr. Arafat Awajan, dean of the King Hussein School for Information Technology, stated, "The course stems from PSUT's policy to upgrade the aptitude of its students and meet the labor market's requirements. Princess Sumaya University has facilitated all the required conveniences to make its students realize the course's disciplines adeptly."
Dr. Awajan added, "The course is a joint initiative between PSUT and JICA. And we look forward to enhance a fruitful cooperation with the Japanese agency in the future, in which we hope to pave way for our students to learn more about the e-learning methods. PSUT has an approach to enhance its cooperation ties with international institutions, like the European Union, and with international NGOs like JICA, or with the world's major IT manufacturers such as Microsoft and Oracle."
