The 'New World of Work' is a dramatic change in the way information workers access information, and it provides an opportunity for people to unleash their creativity and productivity, and realize their full potential.

"We are evolving toward a diverse, yet unified global market, with customers, partners and suppliers that work together across cultures and regions," said Mazen Shehadeh, Desktop Product Marketing Manager, Microsoft Gulf. "The global workforce is 'always- on' and always connected. Business is becoming more transparent, with a greater need to ensure accountability, security, and privacy within and across organizations. Microsoft's 'New World of Work' is about developing the concepts and solutions which will address these needs, and change the way that people work."

The New World of Work showcases Microsoft solutions such as Microsoft Office System, SharePoint Portal, and Exchange and demonstrates how companies of all sizes can use these tools to maximize the impact of employees and work groups, drive profound connections with customers and partners, enable informed and timely decision-making, manage and protect critical information, and minimize operational costs.

The latest generation of Microsoft software has been designed to automate routine tasks and to integrate applications to create powerful work solutions such as unified communications and shared workspaces to help connect people, data and resources.

"In a new world of work, where collaboration, business intelligence and prioritizing scarce time and attention are critical factors for success, the tools that information workers use must evolve in ways that do not add new complexity forusers," added Shehadeh. "We at Microsoft believe, that through integration, simplification, and a new breed of software applications and services that manage complexity in the background, it is possible to extend human capabilities by automating low-value tasks to help people better manage the more complex tasks that need their focus."

"In short, the software of tomorrow will build on the already-powerful capabilities we have today, and give information workers innovative new tools to focus, prioritize, understand and act on what is most important in the new world of work. The result will tame the barrage of incoming data and equip information workers with deeper insight - for even greater and smarter productivity," Shehadeh concluded.
