  • PRESS RELEASE

Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd. today announced plans to increase the size and scope of its Acer Certified Sales Professional (ACSP) program begun in 1999.

The aim of the expansion is to provide the leading PC vendor's regional channel sales personnel with world-class levels of customer service and product knowledge training.

"Acer is a global brand with a reputation for excellence, both in terms of innovation and customer service. But to truly live the Acer brand, our frontline, channel sales people must fully understand how these strategic values translate to the customer, and to ensure this, they must be properly trained," said Eric Tien, Managing Director, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd.

"In short, we want all people who represent Acer products and services to our customers to be the very best representatives possible," concluded Tien.

Program Details, Objectives
The ACSP training program is divided into four different modules - one each for Veriton commercial PCs, Altos range of Servers, TravelMate Notebooks, and Aspire Desktop and Notebook PCs. Trainees are provided with intensive instruction on one, or all modules, before being tested and awarded the certification for either one or all of the relevant modules.

"The primary objective of the ACSP program is to build on Acer's customer centric philosophy. We want to ensure that our sales teams, both internal and external, are proficiently trained and in position to act as IT consultants rather than merely as sales people," said Sunil Kumar, Channel Manager, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd.

"We believe Acer is an IT company that can add value to the buying process for valued customers across the region. And we believe that our long-term success lies in providing these IT solutions through a network of highly trained sales professionals," added Kumar.

The ACSP program has generated tremendous enthusiasm within the extensive Acer channel partner network within this region. The program held in Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria and Jordan covering nine channel partners was attended by over 40 Acer channel sales staff from respective channels This Program has to date produced more than 200 ACSP accredited sales professionals.

"Channel sales team was trained by Acer staff on all of the latest technological innovations involved in the development of next generation products," said Basem Ewaiwi, Country Sales Manager, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd.

"The ACSP program enhancements that have recently been introduced mean Channel sales staff will always be one step ahead of the competition, in both product knowledge and customer service understanding," added Ewaiwi.
