Etisalat showcases 'Etisalat Messenger' service during Gitex 2005

Visitors to the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation - Etisalat - stand at GITEX 2005 can see the demonstration of the 'Etisalat Messenger'.

This is an instant messaging service for the mobile phone that enables its users to constantly remain connected over Etisalat's network. The user of this service can be in touch with users of other messenger services also, including all programmes over the Internet such as Yahoo, MSN, Maktoob, AOL, and others.

Showcasing this service during GITEX 2005 demonstrates Etisalat's view of converging diverse media to bring about the most convenience. This service will add to the range of recreational options that will soon be available to all mobile subscribers.
The new system is compatible to 3gpp IMS specification which provides a high level of protection and assures the complete privacy and secrecy of data transferred. It provides users the opportunity to edit and add new services that satisfy their individual needs from the service.

Etisalat messenger will make communication among people from different parts of the world a simple and easy process. Etisalat messenger allows its users to exchange data over the mobile phone along with the option of conducting video calls.

The Internet messenger service has witnessed phenomenal growth over the past few years, especially after the development and widespread penetration of internet services. The increase in the number of multi-service and advanced application Instant Messaging tools launched by various international companies, has also given the service a boost in the right direction.
