The new national airline of Kuwait had previously opened booking for flights November 16, 2005 and beyond, and has now announced that it will take-off on October 30th with flights to Dubai, Beirut, Damascus, Amman and Bahrain, adding Egypt, India and South East Asia to its destinations in the near future.
Though a new airline, Jazeera Airways is breaking-away from aviation models known in the region, offering a brand new travel experience that gives passengers full control over their travel plans.
Marwan Boodai, Chairman and CEO of the new airline said: 'We do not consider ourselves in the airline business; we are in the business of empowering travellers'.
'We have worked with the best partners in the industry and brought leading international suppliers to the Middle East - some for the first time - to achieve highest level of safety and efficiency. The higher efficiency has enabled us to focus on putting more control into the hands of people travelling to and from Kuwait'.
Jazeera Airways offers a variety of booking options: through travel agents, over the phone by calling the Jazeera Airways Call centre, via SMS, or online, where travellers can book their flights and their seats and pay 24 hours a day.
During the flights, passengers are free to choose whether to eat or not and can purchase their food on board, an approach that adds to their freedom of choice.
Jazeera Airways has recruited a team of international experts in aviation and has invested heavily in IT, by acquiring the latest booking and payment technology, implementing electronically integrated operations, and adopting a ticket-less model for passengers. The airline's easy to navigate, bilingual website (jazeeraairways.com) will play essential role as a source of information and a booking channel where passengers can choose even their seats.
Starting October 30, Jazeera Airways will operate a fleet of brand new single type Airbus A320 aircraft, which, with its high-efficiency, enables Jazeera Airways to offer below-market fares throughout the year.
The airline only hires pilots with more than 5000 hours of commercial flying time (the equivalent of 480 flights from Kuwait to London) and has contracted the world renowned airline engineering specialists, Lufthansa Technic, for the maintenance of the aircraft.
