Present for the DCCI was Mr. Abdulrahman G. Al Mutaiwee, Director General, and Ms. Nuha Mohammed Safar, Chief Coordinator of Public Relations. The campaign begins on the 2nd of October and will continue until the 10th of November and the special program of events remind the people of Dubai of the virtues of unity and generosity during the Holy month.
Mr. Mutaiwee announced during his opening speech that the grand draw for AED 1 million will take place at the end of the Ramadan campaign. He added that fifty percent of the money will go to the charities affiliated with the City that Cares campaign, which were announced at the last press conference. The charities that will benefit the most are the UAE Red Crescent, United Nations World Food Program, Dubai Charity Association and Al- Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs.
Mr. Mutaiwee also announced the names of the sponsors of the City that Cares Campaign: Ibn Battuta Mall, Etisalat and Dubai Islamic Bank and he thanked them for their support and cooperation, without which their noble intentions would be unfulfilled. Mr. Mutaiwee also highlighted some of the events that the DCCI are sponsoring; including an event for the Tourism Board and various sporting activities for the Dubai Chess and Culture Club, the Dubai Club for Special Sports and the Al Ahli Sports Club.
Ms. Safar announced the co-sponsors: Emarat Petrol Stations, Interiors, Jumeirah and the National Bank of Dubai, with whom they have organised weekly surprises with prizes worth hundreds of thousands of dirhams. Ms Safar elaborated on the numerous activities planned for the entertainment, charity and social sectors.
Competitions, plays, traditional performance groups and weekly prize draws are all scheduled for the month and charity events that did very well last Ramadan such as the 'We Care' competition for colleges and universities and the 'Join Me' parade to encourage donations, are also part of the activities.
A new addition to the charity line up is the selling of 100 000 colourful, plastic bracelets with Dubai City that Cares written on it that will be sold at participating Emarat Petrol Stations, universities and government agencies to activate the retail sector in this years campaign.
This year's Dubai City that Cares Campaign is off to a successful start and both Mr. Mutaiwee and Ms. Safar wished everyone a peaceful and blessed Ramadan and called upon everyone to give their utmost support to this campaign and spread the message of giving and unity during this Holy month.

Ramadan is on our doorstep again and this Saturday, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) held a Press Conference at the Dusit Dubai to announce the activities of this year's Dubai City that Cares Campaign, aimed at generating charity.
