V.Ships appoints Rishi K. Trivedi to head up V.Ships Agency's worldwide team

V. Ships has appointed Rishi K. Trivedi as Group Managing Director of the Marine Services Division's worldwide agency business - V.Ships Agency.
Mr Trivedi, who has been with the group since January 2000, joined V.Ships Agency UAE from Inchcape Shipping Services. Born in Gujarat, India, Rishi holds commercial and LLB degrees from Bombay University. In a career spanning 29 years in the industry to date, he has been an active member of Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, the Executive Committee of the Nautical Institute UAE branch and a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport UK. Rishi has been working in the Gulf for over two decades, and is married to a Bahraini national and has two children.
The V.Ships Agency office in Dubai commenced operations in 2000 and since that time, under Rishi's guidance, has grown to include facilities at the ports of Fujairah, Ras al Khaimah and Khorfakkan. The purpose built Fujairah facility opened in January 2003, includes a warehouse and crew accommodation. In addition a new crew boat was purchased in 2003, with a second crew boat due shortly.
In 2005, V.Ships Agency has been actively exploring opportunities for further agency operations in conjunction with JV partners IMC in Taiwan, Thailand and the merging operations in mainland China for the two companies. Further developments include India, South America and US Gulf, as well as worldwide logistics operations.
Shay Devine, V.Ships' Marine Services CEO, praised the V.Ships UAE office, commenting that the success achieved to date is due to the commitment and determination of Rishi K. Trivedi and his team in building the reputation the office enjoys today.
Mr Trivedi will report to Shay Devine and has been overseeing Group Agency operations from the Dubai Head office since late May 2005.
The ISO9001:2000 accredited V.Ships Agency network has 15 offices worldwide with hub operations in Argentina, Dubai, London, Miami, Monaco, Rotterdam, Singapore. Their well tested third party agency associations can offer full ship agency services in most ports worldwide.
