TLC to host Fujairah Seminar
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, October 03 - 2005 at 10:38
- PRESS RELEASE
Fujairah on the East Coast, to launch a unique 3-day seminar on " Tourism and Logistics: The Flipside of the Same Coin" November 14.
"Like the UNESCO projects in Maldives, Malta, (China) and other island countries, this seminar will set in process the best practices in economic development where tourism and logistics is linked together to unleash growth potential in business. Just accelerate the planning and construction of logistics parks and bonded zones, with an emphasis on port-integrated projects. And develop headquarters economy around the new Emirates highway between Dubai and Fujairah by attracting well-known intermediary service companies, corporate R&D headquarters, procurement and marketing centres to move in.", said Prof Philbert Suresh, Event Director of this seminar in Fujairah.
The seminar has been structured on the same model as done by TransLogistique Canada (since 1997) and includes a whole range of activities in the retreat program managed by Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort. It will feature concepts, strategies, technologies and leadership metrics that redefine credentials of professionals in the region.
The session topics has been well researched by TLC to provide a conclusive proof that the logistics process, methodology and strategy is the same as moving cargo or people between a point of origin and point of destination. It is the flipside of the same coin - where the process and strategy is common whether moving cargo or people. Under destination marketing of Fujairah tourism it assumes new significance. We have the airport that will bring many people to this region. And they are gearing up for expansion.
The Port of Fujairah with assistance of Dubai Port Authority will be growing one for container trade based on intermodal movement of cargo on the new highway. The free zone is also attracting new investors because of cost effective proposition and the expanding transportation infrastructure.
