  • PRESS RELEASE

'Crossover - Bollywood Se', a celebrity style lounge to open in Dubai in October by Indian movie icon Suniel Shetty and master franchised by the Dubai-based Meghna Anil Pagarani.

'Crossover - Bollywood Se', has been developed as a retail chain to cater to the requirements of NRIs (non-resident Indians) scattered around the world, as well as the enormous following that Indian fashion has attracted over the past decades. 'Crossover - Bollywood Se' in Dubai, is the first of these stores that are scheduled to open in cities across the globe.

Bollywood art director, Sabu Cyril, has had the creative charge for the design of the store's interiors, which has been executed by Dev of Studio Krea locally. With Bollywood as its theme, the store has been designed to resemble the sets of a movie, complete with props and equipment. Situated in the heart of Dubai and spread over an area of over 6000sqft, this store is a stone's throw away from Burjuman Center and diagonally across from Strand Cinema.

While the open store design, with a film set feel, is the first indication of a new retail experience in the emirate, the uniqueness of the store is not limited to its Bollywood theme alone. This store also boasts a unique multi-element retail concept: it includes The Style Lounge - a 'one stop shop' for designer clothing; Hakim Aalim's Salon - the celebrity hairstylist; Adora Jewellery - the signature series jewellery lounge; and finally Chill out Café.

Commenting on the store, Ms. Meghna Pagarani, Managing Director, Crossover Bollywood Se LLC, said, "Though there are many stores that offer designs by leading Bollywood designers, there is no single store where one can check out the latest designer wear, match your jewellery, top it up with a new hairdo."

'Crossover - Bollywood Se' will provide dusk-to-dawn wear, in western and ethnic Indian styles, for men and women from designers such as Aki Narula, Anita Dongre, Arjun Khanna, Deepika Gehani, Khushali Kumar, Lascelles Simmons, Manish Malhotra, Meera Mahadevia, Neeta Lulla, Rohit Bal, Shabin Khan, Shahid Aamir, Falguni and Shane Peacock, Shantanu and Nikhil, Suneet Verma and Vikram Phadnis.

In the fashion conscious metropolis that Dubai is, the opening of Aalim's Salon at 'Crossover - Bollywood Se', has already drawn a great deal of interest. Aalim, who has snipped at the Bombay film industry's most lustrous locks, has changed the perception of hair styling with fresh looks created for stars in hit Bollywood movies like Kaante, Bhoot, Qayamat, Khakhee, Masti, among others. Wella, the international hair care brand, have come on board as the key promoter and are providing extensive support to Hakim's Aalim.

Adora Diamond Jewellery, the trusted and prized diamond jewellery brand in India, will make its Dubai debut at the formal unveiling of 'Crossover - Bollywood Se'. Known for its outstanding designs, Adora offers a complete range of diamond jewellery for women and fine diamond accessories for men. The showstopper of the Adora range is 'Swaranjali', a limited edition series of premium diamond jewellery that has been designed specially for Adora by Lata Mangeshkar, India's singing legend.

Chill Out Café will be another exciting venue at 'Crossover - Bollywood Se'. Residents and visitors to Dubai can look forward to its opening in November this year.

The opening of Crossover - Bollywood Se in Dubai will be followed by the opening of stores in Singapore, Kuwait, London, Toronto and Vancouver. The opening of the new stores will be announced in the course of 2006.
