Towell Auto Centre introduces new Mazda6 Sedan and Sports Touring

Making its public debut in the Motor Show 2006 on 14th September 2005, Mazda6 Year 2006 model attacks the mid-size sedan class with the purest expression of its Zoom-Zoom philosophy. The latest models have undergone a total of 2385 improvements including 785 technical improvements.

The new Mazda6 stands out in the faceless sea of midsize sedans, with its dramatic styling hinting at the car's involving, fun-to-drive character. Also drawing attention is the alternative body style. To achieve better handling and ride comfort the rigidity of chassis parts has been bolstered, largely achieved by local reinforcements of the car body. In addition, great attention has been paid to cabin quietness, comfortable operation of the gearshift and switches, and selected interior trim materials for their softness to enhance the high quality feel in the finer details.

Mazda6's original athletic design theme integrates high-quality looks and refinement with a strong visual presence. The reshaping of the front and rear too conveys a sportier appearance striking a more aggressive pose than its midsize brethren.

In addition to the innovative air intake in the front bumper skirt, tight clearance headlamps and other features unique to Mazda6, the revised version adopts a new upper grille design that is markedly recessed, giving the lower section a deeper lip for a distinctive three-dimensional appearance. The lower grille has a more aggressive and sporty design, and expresses a refined personality. The front bumper is also redesigned to accentuate Mazda6's look of dynamic motion. Black bezel headlamps further add to the car's sportiness and sophistication.

Delivering the sportiest driving experience in the category, the Mazda6 is available in MZR 2.0 litre Engine and MZR 2.3 litre engine both of which achieve more power and torque as well as better fuel economy than its predecessors. Two transmissions - an electronic control five-speed Activematic AT and a six-speed MT - are available to both improve dynamic performance and fuel economy.

MZR 2.0 Engine

The improved MZR 2.0 engine delivers maximum power of 108kW at 6,500 rpm and maximum torque of 184Nm at 4,500 rpm (EEC). These enhanced performance figures are partly achieved through the introduction of VIS (Variable Induction System) that optimises the intake manifold's filling efficiency by varying intake manifold length via a control valve.

MZR 2.3 Engine

The MZR 2.3 engine employs VIS and an electronically controlled throttle valve to boost torque at all engine speeds. With maximum power of 122kW at 6,500 rpm and maximum torque of 207Nm at 4,000 rpm (EEC), the engine delivers superb performance and sharp response.
