  • PRESS RELEASE

Emirates Post has launched 'SMS Post', a new service that allows customers to get the status report of their mail and parcels over mobile phones, starting Saturday, October 8, 2005.

The service, however, is applicable only to parcels, Express Mail, Registered Mail, Money Orders, Ministry of Labour documents or any other service that has a barcode or a receipt number. To get the status report, customers are required to SMS their receipt number to 7678 (which reads POST on the mobile phone keypad) and Emirates Post will reply back through an SMS.

"SMS Post is yet another user-friendly service that reflects Emirates Post commitment to providing value addition to customers," said Salem Al Shaya, Assistant Director General for Operations, Emirates Post. "As the mobile phone has become the most common accessory today, we decided to make use of it as a channel for interactive communication that ensures prompt reply, giving our customers peace of mind and greater convenience."
