Dubai Knowledge Village showcases its academic community with Open Day

Dubai Knowledge Village (KV), the region's leading educational destination, opened its doors this week to students of UAE-based high schools seeking international higher education opportunities within the region.
Dubai Knowledge Village is home to 15 renowned international universities from nine different countries. These institutions offer undergraduate, postgraduate, MBA and PhD programmes of study as well as numerous training courses in a variety of fields.
The visiting high school students attended a series of presentations conducted by KV universities. Later the group was taken on a tour of the university campuses in KV.
"KV now offers a wealth of international academic institutions and programmes of study that offer a viable alternative to overseas study," said Dr Abdulla Al Karam, CEO Dubai Knowledge Village. "The Open Days enabled students to experience first-hand the opportunities available to them at our universities. The Open Days were also designed to promote linkages between regional high-schools and KV."
Due to it success, KV will make the initiative a biannual event that will be open to students of all UAE schools. Parents of the students will also be invited. The next Open Day is scheduled for Spring 2006.
Dubai Knowledge Village recently announced Dubai Knowledge Universities, a mega-campus for international universities. The first phase of the initiative is due for completion in July 2006. The mega-campus is expected to house 30 universities and 40,000 students by 2010.
