- United Arab Emirates: Monday, October 10 - 2005 at 12:46
- PRESS RELEASE
The Middle East will buck the world-wide Maybach sales trend this year by increasing deliveries of the ultra-luxury sedan that was recently named best overall vehicle by US car owners in the income bracket of USD5mn to USD25mn.
"The 57 S extends the Maybach 57 and 62 model range with a vehicle whose combination of contemporary luxury, the ultimate in comfort and state-of-the-art high performance technology embodies the perfection which is characteristic of the brand that is a favourite in the Middle East," said Chris Vallance, Regional Sales Manager, Maybach, Mercedes Car Group, Dubai.
The V12 engine, which Maybach engineers have improved with the asistance of Mercedes-AMG experts, gives the 57S high performance luxury sedan breathtaking acceleration.
Thanks to the biturbo technology and an air/water intercooler, the 5980 cc V12 develops an impressive 612 hp and a massive1000 Nm of torque. Acceleration from standstill to 100 km/h is just five seconds.
Discreet and tasteful exterior visual highlights emphasise the distinctive dynamic character of the new Maybach 57 S.
These include an exclusive monochrome colour scheme featuring special black or silver paint finishes, a modified front section with an enhanced radiator grile and revised light units, a discreet '57 S' badge on the front wing below the A-pillar and on the bootlid, as well as striking new 20-inch spoked wheels.
Deliberately distinctive and very exclusive, the visual statement made by the Maybach 57 S is picked up by an interior that features a carefully balanced combination of piano laquer and carbon elements especially in areas within the driver's reach and immediate field of view to create an atmosphere of dynamic elegance.
