- Tuesday, October 09 - 2001 at 10:06
- PRESS RELEASE
Fastlink has launched a new service, called Daleelak, that connects the user to his/her personal information through the mobile and/or the worldwide web.
The new service brings together several staple elements: E-mail, contacts, calendar, and notes. Through the e-mail feature the user can send, read, organize her/his e-mail and set up Daleelak to receive e-mail from other external accounts. Sending and receiving e-mail messages is also possible from the mobile phone via SMS messages.
The 'contacts' element of the service corresponds to the user's address book. A user can add, delete and modify his/her contacts that can vary from phone numbers to faxes to e-mail addresses, etc.
On the other hand the calendar enables users to set up meetings or appointments. It also enables them to receive confirmations and reminders via SMS messages. This service is available for post-paid users only and can be activated on a weekly or monthly basis.
Last but not least comes the notes element, which allows users to add or modify any type of text information to the user's private free-text database using the web and/or SMS.
There are two ways a Fastlink customer can register with Daleelak. The first is through the Daleelak website www.daleelak.jo, while the second is through sending an SMS message to the Daleelak number 1234 with the instruction REG: Subscription to Daleelak's Notification is charged at JD4 per 250 reminders or notifications. The price for each SMS message needed to communicate with Daleelak is set at 5 Piasters.
Commenting on Daleelak Samer Al-Dameri, Fastlink's Data Group Officer, said: "This new service is an implementation of Fastlink's policy of introducing the latest mobile and data technologies into the Jordanian market. Daleelak assimilates the functions of many different gadgets and was launched with the aim of making Fastlink subscribers' mobile usage more unique, more useful and 100% enjoyable."
"ZEINE is proud of this service that was entirely developed by Jordanian hands. It will further enhance Daleelak to become a leading service worldwide. Fastlink users will be able to use this service through the web or any mobile phone anywhere in the world where Fastlink has roaming service," said Basim Saleh, Business Development Manager at ZEINE. "The Fastlink marketing and technical teams added a lot of value to some features of Daleelak through their valuable suggestions," Mr. Saleh added.
