Customer airlines can now leave their passenger and cargo revenue accounting in the hands of experienced professionals from Mercator, the Dubai-based IT Division of the Emirates Group, and sit back and enjoy the benefits.

Mercator's new Revenue Accounting Bureau Service, based on its industry-leading RAPID system, converts data printed on airline tickets into the detailed financial and strategic information an airline needs to maintain its competitive edge.

It takes care of all aspects of revenue accounting, including data capture, proration, accounting, auditing, reconciliation, management reporting and interline billing.

Customer airlines incur no infrastructure or training overheads. They simply pass their ticketing information to Mercator -- whose professionals do the rest.

Hugh Pride, Director of IT at Mercator, said: "Airlines are now able to reap the benefits of Mercator's unrivalled product quality and two thousand man-years of revenue accounting experience, leaving them free to focus on competing effectively."

Attractions of the new service include low initial investment, faster implementation, more accurate billing and verification, reduced accounting costs, greater productivity and no training requirement.

Mercator's twin data centres in Dubai, managed by top revenue accounting specialists, will guarantee user airlines a world-class service.
