Emirates Airline flies on the wings of HP OpenView

HP has signed a multi-million dollar, five-year contract with Emirates Group for a full IT and business services management solution in a bid to enhance customer satisfaction and optimize IT services.
"Emirates has established a world-class reputation for innovation and state-of-the-art operations. The decision to go with HP OpenView Management Solutions is a great reflection on our software in this fast-growing and highly competitive Enterprise market," said Anas Jwaied, Software Sales Director of HP Middle East.
"HP OpenView solutions will allow Emirates to increase the performance of its IT services, control and ultimately reduce costs, mitigate risks, plan, automate and manage change in real time, and map IT applications to their lines of businesses, this will enable Emirates to achieve the desired Service Level Management. In essence, HP OpenView solutions offer companies a unique vision and proven results that directly impact the bottom line.
"HP's ability to provide a complete solution from Infrastructure through to Business Service Management is also making HP the number one choice not just in aviation but other key vertical sectors in the Middle East such as Oil & Gas, Government and the Telecom sector," adds Jwaied.
Emirates Executive Vice President Service Departments Nigel Hopkins commented: "Emirates chose HP based on a thorough assessment of their abilities to provide us with a world class Enterprise and Business Service Management solution that would meet our immediate and future business objectives of improving quality of service, security, enhancing customer satisfaction and optimizing IT services."
Revealing details of the project, Hopkins explained that Emirates Group will extend the project beyond the scope of the initial implementation to cover various other areas of their business. "We have been impressed with the breadth of HP's solution and its ability to meet our highly diversified and demanding infrastructure management requirements. HP's OpenView solutions provide the reliability, scalability, and performance required to continuously provide high-quality customer service. For us, HP was a strategic choice to support our growing business and maintain the highest standards of quality and performance," concludes Hopkins.
HP will ensure that capacity management and performance optimization information are readily available, leading to reduced costs. In addition HP will provide proactive and automated monitoring as well as tools to focus on root-cause analysis to ensure higher customer satisfaction. The solution will provide end-to-end measurement of transaction performance and availability to allow effective Service Level Agreements between Mercator, the IT division of the Emirates Group and its customers.
The agreement includes HP's successful partnership with regional distributor Emitac, an HP OpenView Platinum Business Partner. Commenting on the Emirates Group deal, Emitac's CEO Suhail Issa, said: "Partners must excel in providing optimal resources for sales, consulting and implementation. Emitac has a dedicated quality team of HP Software sales and technical professionals committed to delivering best-in class services and support, as well as meeting and exceeding world-class customer expectations."
