PLET signs biggest-ever laundry deal in the Middle East with ILS

The deal is considered to be the biggest in laundry supply contract concluded so far across the entire Middle East.

PLET's laundry equipment will be part of ILS' upcoming laundry facility - with a built-up area spanning a mammoth 120,000 sq. ft. - in the Jebel Ali Industrial Area, which is being commissioned primarily to cater to the laundry requirements of burgeoning hotels in the region. The total project cost is around AED 40 million for the first phase.

"For the past two years, ILS, PLET and JENSEN PROJECTS have done rigorous research - in terms of technical, commercial, and procedural aspects - before coming up with a blue-print for the project," says Mr. Sreejith Narendran, Sales Manager, PLET. "Such a systematic approach - which even included meticulous evaluation of manpower requirement - has enabled PLET / ILS to arrive at an optimal level of automation, which will eventually facilitate cost-effective laundry solutions to customers. ILS will feature fully automated washing and finishing processes with a capacity to produce 40 tons of linen and 4 tons of Dry-cleaning per day in the first phase "

PLET's sophisticated equipment range - including JENSEN SENKING Continuous Batch Washing (CBW) System , JENSEN fully automated flatwork ironing line, and IPSO's high quality commercial washers - will facilitate high-volume processing, thereby ensuring substantial cost benefits not only for ILS but also for the hotels that will be using their laundry services. This assumes importance especially when new trends such as 'rental linen' and 'centralised laundry' are gaining popularity in vibrant markets such as the U.A.E.
