The 2nd Annual Six Sigma Gulf Summit 2005 is being hosted and organized by Future Vision in association with Bahrain Society for Training & Development (BSTD) under the patronage of H. E Dr. Hassan A. Fakhro, Minister of Industry & Commerce.

The event is supported by Juran Institute Inc, USA, world's leading authority in Quality Management founded by Dr. Joseph M. Juran in 1979 who is well known as the Father of Quality.

Six Sigma is a long-term, forward-thinking initiative designed to fundamentally change the way corporations do business. It is first and foremost a methodology that enables companies to increase profits dramatically by streamlining operations, improving quality, and eliminating defects or mistakes in everything a company does.

The One Day Summit on 5th December 2005 features International Keynote Speaker Mr. Joseph A. De Feo, President & CEO, Juran Institute Inc. who will present an executive briefing on Six Sigma and will guide step-by-step through a series of management concepts and practices to achieve near perfection in all business processes.

Mr. De Feo will also present Juran's Six Sigma implementation success at Telefonica Spain, a world leader in telecommunications sector with a customer base of 100 million and employee strength of over 173,000 across Latin America. This is a classical example of Six Sigma success in the service industry by applying the proven methodology in the areas such as quality of internet support, quality of attending claims, improving the selling of ADSL services, improving the quality of debt management etc.

The summit also features Six Sigma case studies from leading Middle East organizations such as Saudi Aramco, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Dubai Cables Company (Ducab) etc., presented by Six Sigma Black Belts who actually had worked with improvement projects and produced measurable results in the these organizations.

A successful Six Sigma implementation demands a change in corporate culture that begins at the highest levels. For this reason, top-management commitment is a key factor determining the success of any organization's Six Sigma initiative. The members of the management team who create such initiatives are called Six Sigma Champions. A Six Sigma Champion Manages, Supports, Defends, Protects, Endorses, Maintains, and Deploys an organization's Six Sigma effort.

The One Day summit will be followed by a Two-Day Post-Summit Champion Workshop presented by Joseph A. De Feo from December 6-7, 2005. Only limited seats are available for this workshop. Attending this workshop is a good point to start the Six Sigma initiative in any organization.

Over 200 delegates from all over the Middle East are expected to attend this event.
