The Dock No.1 at Jadaf Dubai which handles all types of sea faring vessels weighing up to 250 deadweight tonnes (DWT), was involved in the docking and undocking of 404 ships in the second quarter, while Dock No. II handled 138 ships. Dock No. 1 achieved a 22. 5 per cent increase in operations in the third quarter, compared to the same period last year. Metal vessels and yatchts comprised majority of ships that were handled by Jadaf between July and September 2005, with lengths ranging from 12.8×80 square meters to 31×11 square meters.

"Jadaf Dubai has had another successful quarter in 2005. The growth in trade across the Middle East has amplified the need for high quality ship docking and undocking services, and we were able to provide these services with utmost efficiency," said Hamed Mohammed Matar Bin Lahej, General Manager of Jadaf Dubai. "The proficiency and dedication of our technical team has greatly contributed to the consistent performance of Jadaf Dubai over the years."

"Jadaf Dubai caters to requirements from leading shipping lines across the world, who are keen to avail the best docking and undocking services. We will continue with our major expansion plans to accommodate ships of various sizes and capacities. We are glad that regional and international shipping lines have greatly commended Jadaf's expertise and technical excellence," he added.

Since the last 28 years Jadaf Dubai is known for maintaining and repairing ships coming from different countries in the region, including South Asian, African and European countries. The increasing number of docking and undocking operations have given valuable experience to the staff and has prompted several countries to send their employees to Jadaf Dubai for training. Further, the training and development department at Jadaf Dubai is also working on developing a training programme that can be used to attract more trainers from other countries in the region.
