Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) will showcase the impressive growth it has achieved over the last few years. From an operator of small fields in Gujarat, it has rapidly grown into a world-class oil and gas exploration and production company. GSPC constructed the first and only land-based drilling platform in India, and the company currently manages a total of 21 fields or blocks in the subcontinent.

"OGWA 2006 will enable us to feature our multi-dimensional operational framework that focuses on exploring, developing and harnessing newer energy sources to meet India's growing energy requirements," said K. Prakash, GSPC's Corporate Communications Manager.

Petrofac is a leading provider of facilities solutions to the oil and gas industries worldwide. The company was recently awarded a contract by Oman's Ministry of Oil and Gas (MOG) for the construction of a $200-million gas plant at Kauther field in northern Oman. Petrofac will build the plant over a two-year period and then operate it for a year for the recovery of gas and condensates.

"This project marks our re-entry into Oman and it will enable us to show our capability as a provider of a total facilities solutions approach to meet our client's needs," said David Lufkin, Sales and Marketing Director of Petrofac. "We are going to display our expertise in engineering and construction, operations services, and resources management at OGWA 2006."

Now on its fifth edition, Oil & Gas West Asia is Oman's only show for the vibrant oil and gas industry in this region. The biennial event, which was started in 1998, presents the latest projects of national oil companies in the GCC as well as the services and technologies offered by international oil and gas firms.

OGWA 2006 will also feature a major conference, the Middle East Energy Forum, which will give industry professionals a platform to discuss latest global developments in the face of rising crude oil prices and increasing demand for gas.

OGWA 2006 is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Oil and Gas and is supported by the majority state-owned Petroleum Development Oman. Many leading energy media companies have also committed their full support to OGWA 2006.
