- Saudi Arabia: Monday, October 17 - 2005 at 13:28
- PRESS RELEASE
Jarir Bookstores has teamed up with Source IT - the region's foremost mobile and technology distributor - in announcing plans to drive sales by sending the award winning i-mate on a Saudi Arabian 'road show' in October.
"Our aim is to boost the profile in Saudi of the world's most sophisticated range of pocket PC's," said Ahmed Al Azzawi, Director at Source IT, the official i-mate™ distributor for the Middle East.
"Saudi Arabia is one of the largest markets for pocket PC's and we would like to ensure that i-mate™ users can benefit fully from the countless possibilities offered by these remarkable handsets. These include wireless Bluetooth ability, a full Microsoft Office suite of applications, email and internet capability and an mp3 player."
Hot on the heels of a successful GITEX showing, the Saudi Arabian tour comes at an important time for Source IT who recently supported the Middle East launch for the i-mate™ JASJAR and the i-mate™ K-JAM.
The i-mate™ JASJAR handheld features the latest Microsoft Windows Mobile 5 operating system, a rotating VGA screen, 2 cameras and full internet browsing ability, including built in Wi-Fi.
The i-mate™ K-JAM, the successor to the popular and successful i-mate™ JAM device, is packed with features including a slide keyboard, 1.3 Mega Pixel camera and an mp3 player.
"Jarir Bookstores is very excited to be working alongside Source IT and i-mate™ on this timely initiative," commented Nasser Abdulaziz Al-Ageel, Chief Operating Officer, Jarir Bookstores.
"Customers are becoming increasingly tech-savvy and are demanding more information about the products they buy. The i-mate™ road show addresses this trend head-on, and is just one of many projects we hope to work on with Source IT," he continued.
The Jarir Bookstores i-mate™ road show is the latest in a string of impressive distributor-retailer drives from Source IT, whose astute approach to Middle Eastern technology distribution and marketing have them poised to close on a second year of successful results with forecast of 50 per cent growth year-on-year.
The Saudi Arabian i-mate™ road show will be at selected Jarir Bookstores on the following dates:
Jeddah: October 19th, 20th and 21st
Al Khobar: October 26th, 27th and 28th
