Sheikh Saud wins American Business Award

H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has won the `American Business Award' for the year 2005 instituted by the American Business Council of Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
The Award was announced by Anis Nassar, President of the American Business Council, who called on Sheikh Saud to convey the news at the Al Dhait Palace on Sunday.
"Sheikh Saud, through his visionary leadership, has steered Ras Al Khaimah to a path of rapid progress and development. He has also made great contributions for enhancing trade and business relations between UAE and the United States of America", Anis Nassar said.
The award will be presented at the American Business Council's annual gala dinner to be held in Dubai on November 17, 2005.
Speaking to the delegation from the ABC, Sheikh Saud thanked the Council for selecting him for the award. He said that the activities of the ABC would help to further bolster the ties of friendship and cooperation between UAE and the USA.
Sheikh Saud said that Ras Al Khaimah would continue to be an ideal place for people to come and do business. He said that the Emirate was committed to opening up its economy which provided tremendous opportunities for international investors. "The Government is making all efforts to create a business friendly and congenial environment where people from across the world can invest and live in", he added.
The American Business Council of Dubai and the Northern Emirates presents the `American Business Award' each year to a U.A.E. national to honor his outstanding contribution to the development of relations between the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America.
The previous recipients of the prestigious award included General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Defence Minister, H.H Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikha Lubna Al Qassimi, UAE Minister of Economy and Planning, among others.
