Emirates Post delegation participates in key meetings of UPU

A high-level Emirates Post delegation, led by Director General Abdullah Al Daboos, participated in various meetings of the UPU Council of Administration (CA) in Berne, Switzerland, from October 10 to 21.
Mr. Abdullah Al Fan, Assistant Director General, Development and Marketing, Emirates Post, participated in the Postal Investment Council meeting that discussed innovative marketing techniques for more accelerated postal growth.
Mr. Khaled Shahdour, Assistant Director General, IT, took part in important discussions on leveraging Information Technology for improved and diversified postal services.
Mr. Mazen Dakkak, Assistant CEO - Marketing & Sales, Emirates Marketing & Promotions, gave a presentation on Direct Marketing in the Middle East and outlined the scope for further growth in the near future.
"Emirates Post was able to make a significant impact at the various meetings of the Council of Administration," said Mr. Al Fan. "Our strong participation was driven by the need to involve ourselves in all issues related to posts as part of our efforts to consolidate our position on the postal map. We were able to gain experience at the international level and update ourselves on new developments."
Other members of the delegation were Ahmad Belhaif, Operations Manager, and Nasser Fathi Qaddoumi, head of International Postal Services.
The Council of Administration consists of 41 member countries and meets each year at UPU headquarters in Berne, Switzerland. It ensures continuity of the UPU's work between Congresses, supervises its activities and studies regulatory, administrative, legislative and legal issues.
