Eight seminars will run daily throughout the show, which takes place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from October 27-31.

'The seminar programme focus is as diverse as the show itself,' said Bernard Walsh, Managing Director, dmg Index Exhibitions, which organises the Big 5.

'The programme is aimed at architects, specifiers, contractors, developers as well as design and engineering professionals. We have called upon the expertise of world leading industry players and R&D specialists to produce a programme which will focus on the latest equipment, processes and technology to impact this sector. All the seminars are technical in nature and focus on technology which is new to the region and particularly applicable to the Gulf.'

Topics to come under the Big 5 seminar spotlight include: water purification through membrane technology; pipeline renovation; waste water recycling using advanced oxidation technology and biological waste water treatment.

Around 1,000 companies from 39 countries are due to take part in the Big 5, which will also feature 17 national pavilions. Show bookings are up by 20% on last year.
