Next generation of network cabling set to revolutionize regional communications
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, October 23 - 2005 at 13:38
- PRESS RELEASE
Bayanat-Data Processing Systems (DPS), the region's foremost integrator of avionics and advanced airport systems, and Nexans Cabling Solutions, the global leader in the cabling industry, say their network cable solutions are ready to meet the challenges of distance, capacity, and installation in a variety of commercial, educational, and residential environments across the Middle East.
"Network infrastructure is critical to the operation of any commercial, residential, or educational enterprise, because it enables or restricts the organizations ability to communicate effectively," says Georges Hannouche, managing director of Abu Dhabi-based DPS.
The Category 7 standards represent the highest bandwidth cabling available today on the market and has been ratified by ISO/IEC 11801 and the CENELEC- 50173 since 2002, and is gaining increasing recognition in the Middle East due to the new application of the 10GB Ethernet.
"Nexans' Intelligent Enterprise solution will revolutionize network cabling by making networks operate more intelligently and safely, ensuring that Network Managers will have full control of their IT infrastructure," added Hannouche.
Category 7 cabling technology accommodates up to 1000 MHz of bandwidth, the most for any type of copper cabling. Previous cabling technologies were based on conservative performance standards, such as Category 5e - 100 MHz, and Category 6 - 250 MHz.
"The impact that the 'Category 7 solutions' will have on the market is immense because it will remove current network barriers such as Alien Crosstalk (outside interference) ensuring the user has a secure and reliable solution in place," said Tarek Helmy, regional director, Nexans Cabling Solutions.
Having delivered airport technology solutions for Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Fujairah and Sharjah airports in the UAE alone, DPS is the leading integrator of Special Airport infrastructures that include Flight Information Display Systems, Check-in and Baggage Handling Solutions, Instrument Landing Systems, radars, simulators and network infrastructures.
