Al Dhaheri is currently briefing senior government officials on key aspects and progress of the new Identity Card program. Nassir Butti Al Shamsi, Manager of the Dubai EIA branch, accompanied Al Dhaheri at the briefing.

"Throughout these meetings we continue to receive enthusiastic interest and expressions of support from our country's leaders. We are pleased to explain how the project will provide substantial benefits to both government programs and to all residents once the project is implemented,' Al Dhaheri said.

Al Dhaheri also noted that the EIA is taking steps to ensure that the data collected through the registration process is reliable and accurate in all respects.

"As this data represents the all-important interface between the cardholder and all government departments we are committed to absolute accuracy in the initial registration and data collection phase of the program," he said. "Residents can be assured that their personal information is accurate and subject to the highest security measures."

EIA registration and service centres are now in the process of being set up in each emirate throughout the UAE. The Identity Card Program is scheduled to be launched officially by the end of this year.
