Collina's big match with football's top administrators

Pierluigi Collina will share his insights into making the right decisions as part of the Soccerex in Dubai event later this year and representatives from FIFA, UEFA, FA Premier League and the Football League will all be in the audience.

The Bologna-born official, who made his name in Italy's Serie A, will also take part in a panel on governance and transparency within football for the 2,000 delegates gathered in Dubai.

Collina, a former financial adviser, went on to referee 213 matches in Italian Serie A and 93 internationals, including the World Cup Final in 2002 between Brazil and Germany and Manchester United's dramatic Champions League victory over Bayern Munich in 1999.

Delegates from the football world will gather for the three day extravaganza to discuss the burning issues in football. The event takes place at the spectacular Madinat Jumeirah Hotel in Dubai from November 13-15.

Just one year after receiving his FIFA badge, Collina was on his way to the Olympic Games in Atlanta where he took charge of the final between Nigeria and Argentina.

Pierluigi Collina has also recently graduated from the University of Hull. He received an honorary degree from the University in July 2004 for his outstanding contribution to football.

Soccerex has toured some of the world's greatest cities in recent years including Los Angeles, London and Paris.
