The first of its kind in the Middle East, the device has received international acclaim.

Braun has pioneered the Active Positioning System which revolutionizes standard technology by guiding the patient's arm to the optimum position and measuring automatically when this is achieved. Braun's SensorControl monitor goes further than the standard readings taken in a doctor's surgery which only provide a momentary value; repeated measurements at home better reflect actual blood pressure in everyday conditions. The wrist monitor is also capable of storing the last 80 readings, which can then be recalled so the patient's full blood pressure history can be reported precisely to their doctor.

The SensorControl device meets the international standards of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation clinical study and the protocol of the British Hypertension Society (BHS). The monitor further facilitates ease of use by having large buttons and display, and is fitted with a new soft inflation system and self adjusting Comfort Cuff to minimize discomfort during readings.

The BP3550's predecessor, the acclaimed BP2550 UG, holds the title of 2001 winner of the prestigious Medical Innovation Award for its accuracy and convenience to health-care consumers. This accreditation was awarded by renowned medical establishment H.G. Creutzfeldt Institute of Kiel, and is described as an "innovative medical measuring and diagnostic instrument" by leading health-care professionals at the institute. In continual efforts to combat rising hypertension rates across the globe, Braun has furthered its research to facilitate home health care even further with the release of its latest monitor.

As many hypertension sufferers know, regular at-home blood pressure monitoring is invaluable alongside the readings taken at the doctor's office, where 25 percent of patients show higher readings caused by nervousness termed the "white coat effect." Braun has also introduced the EasyClick wrist cuff, a self-adjusting strap that automatically fastens correctly, making accurate readings at home easier and more reliable than ever. In addition, a new soft inflation technology measures during inflation as opposed to during deflation, requiring a significantly lower maximal pressure and allowing for very little noise, thus making the measurement process extremely comfortable and stress-free, providing easy use for both children and adults.
