The kiosks have been installed as part of an ongoing effort to deliver extended services to customers in an automated and user-friendly interface.

The key feature of the kiosk lies in combining functionalities of both the internet and phone banking services while providing video conferencing capabilities with a call center agent. The Enquiry and Payment Kiosk system is intended for customers of ABN AMRO to access information, make inquiries, and process payments either through credit or debit cards. As an interactive devise, the kiosk is an integrated solution deployed for added value features and functionalities in public venues to give people self-service access to products and services.

"The highly advanced EastNets Banking Kiosk solution supports and simplifies transactions and other services for the bank's customers. The kiosk facilitates a range of transactions such as processing payments, balance enquiry, account transfers and opening of other accounts; these services offered are using video conferencing connected to the call centers. In addition, it offers a host of Internet and phone banking services on a 24-hour basis. These kiosks will be a major value addition to customers of ABN AMRO in the UAE, who no longer have to stand in long queues to carry out their transactions," said Hazem Mulhim, CEO, EastNets.

EastNets kiosk solution provides features such as touch screens, telephone lines to call centres and emergencies, card reader, receipt printer, web camera and motion sensor to detect the presence of customers. These features help customers in carrying out their banking transactions in the quickest and most secure way.

"Customer service has been at the core of ABN AMRO's corporate strategy over the years, and the installation of these kiosks will be a further step in this direction. EastNets is a reputed name in the payments and security solutions market and their kiosk teller system is certain to be a boon to our growing customer base in the UAE. This initiative is in line with our goal of offering all banking services online by the end of 2005," said Karim Beg, Head of Marketing Consumer Banking, ABN AMRO Bank.

Kiosks are typically placed in government agencies, banks, universities, exhibitions, cinemas, retail stores, airports, libraries, company cafeterias, and other places where self services are required to obtain specific information, process application, service automation, payment process, viewing of multimedia files and access to various software applications.
