- PRESS RELEASE
Gorsler joins Hilton Dubai Jumeirah from Hilton's Bahrain property, the Hilton International in Manama.
Born and educated in Germany, Gorsler first joined the Hilton group in 1986 in Kuwait, before moving to the Gatwick Hilton in the UK. In 1988 he returned to his hometown, working at the company's Frankfurt hotel, before venturing into the Far East to take up a position at the Hilton Shanghai. From the Far East Gorsler returned to the Middle East, working with the Hilton Kuwait. He has been moving southwards ever since - first to Bahrain and now to the UAE.
Not surprisingly, considering the breadth of his international experience, Gorsler is well-equipped to meet the demands of diners in the UAE. His specialities include Californian, Middle Eastern, Far Eastern, Thai, Indian and Lebanese cuisines and he even admits to being a master at cooking the traditional British favourite, Yorkshire Pudding.
Desire to travel within the Gulf brought Gorsler to Dubai. "I like Dubai and the UAE is full of opportunity", he says. Fluent in English and German, his career has encompassed every aspect of his trade. With almost two decades of experience in hotel catering he is an accomplished and innovative chef with a clear vision of the future. "The challenge is to be creative, to create 'crazy cooking' " he explains. "The trend today is away from heavy food, such as meats and sauces, towards food that is healthy, colourful and tasteful. There is so much 'crazy stuff' that we can do. You have to be prepared to try out 'crazy cooking'!" A man prepared to be innovative and push boundaries, Gorsler is certain to be a valuable addition to the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah team.
