"During the first DCC MENA event (held in May this year), we were urged by the vendors to hold a similar event for the business channel in the region," said Farouk Hemraj, CEO for Distree Events. "We launched the concept of DBC in Russia with a great deal of success. However, our research has shown us that there was a strong need for a similar event in this region and it made better sense to combine Middle East and Africa."
All Distree events, whether Distree, DBC or DCC, are based on in-depth market research involving personal interviews, cross-checking of database, recommendation by leading industry vendors and regional distributors to ensure that Distree continues to provide the high level of services vendors expect. DBC MEA is no exception.
The event is sponsored by AMD and HP as Platinum sponsors. DBC-MEA has also drawn the support of all the leading regional IT and business publications.
"DBC is specially designed for key decision makers from VARs (Value Added Resellers), corporate resellers, system and software houses, and solution providers in MEA, giving them the opportunity to meet and do business with world leading vendors," said Hemraj. "As a 'by-invitation only' event, DBC gives senior decision makers focused opportunities to network with their peers in a relaxed atmosphere."
DBC-MEA follows the special DISTREE formula — a high-level, full service event in the comfort of a world-class venue. Before the event, resellers and vendors are both given a special user name and password that they use to pre-book one-on-one appointments and boardroom meetings. It is a full service event, providing a well balanced combination of boardroom meetings presented by vendors, prescheduled one-on-one meetings, high-level content from industry experts and networking opportunities.
"Our research has consistently shown us that senior decision-makers greatly prefer attending focused and private events like DBC-MEA because it offers them the perfect combination of the privacy and comfort of a high-level conference and the breadth of a trade show," pointed out Hemraj. "We remove all the organisational and logistical burdens, leaving both the vendors and the resellers free to concentrate on what they do best - focus on business."
The 2006 event calendar now includes DISTREE CEE and DISTREE MEA, DCC-CIS, DBC -CIS, DCC-MENA, DCC-Central Europe and DBC-MEA. There are plans to expand the two Middle East events to include select channel members from the sub-continent. All these high-level events follow the same well-proven format, providing selected vendors unprecedented access to decision-makers from the top IT channel buyers in the emerging markets of Europe, Middle East and Africa.
